Nancy Thompson – Executive Director

Nancy Thompson, AWENS Executive Director

Nancy Thompson is the AWENS Executive Director. She works closely with the Board of Directors and staff to improve and expand the organization and to bring AWENS to workplaces throughout the province.

As an entrepreneur, Nancy has created two successful businesses. She was the founder and publisher of Progressive Choices, a national magazine that ran for 10 years and celebrated female entrepreneurs across Canada.

Most recently, in her position at the Construction Association of Nova Scotia (CANS), she helped grow the participation in the Gold Seal Certification Program from 18 registrants to over 150. She is also a board member of the Canadian Literacy and Learning Network.

Nancy shares a passion with AWENS for promoting lifelong learning and helping people to grow both personally and professionally.

“Workplace education is important to ensure the economy of Nova Scotia grows,” she says. “By investing in workplace education, everyone wins – the company, the people and the communities in which we live.”
